Over the course of my pursuit of things artsy/fartsy, I have progressed from #2 pencils, to watercolor, to a whole assortment of charcoals, graphites, and ball point pens. The latest, and longest assortment of tools has become the Pigma Micron pen. They come in a variety of nib sizes, they are durable, water-proof, and fun.
So I keep them in this mug, painted by Vinny Van Gogh. Well, he didn't actually "paint" this one, but one of his most famous, and less liked by me, paintings has been applied to the surface of this porcelain coffee cup/mug.
I have an entire series of mugs decorated with Vinny's images, some of them are the real images, and some of them are some two-bit artists renditions of what his art "looked like." I guess it's the ambience of the mug, sometimes, that makes one feel all smarmy about Vinny, coffee, and the morning news.
Anyway, this is number 4 of the series of which there are, at last count, 247 challenges. My wife asked me what I had in mind to do today, I told her, "I'm going to draw the bed (#5)." She laughed at me and told me to find something useful to do...like put away the summer furniture that still sits outside where it was in June. Do you remember June: sun, warm, birds chirping, bbq going full blast, cold beer, fresh veggies? I like June better.
